Heli Tours - Overview

Heli Tours Queenstown is locally owned and operated by Paul and Katherine Mitchell, New Zealanders who grew up in the Southern Lakes and Canterbury regions. With a passion to showcase their extensive knowledge of the local geography and history the Mitchells have a special relationship with this land and history.

Specialising in helicopter flights around Queenstown, Milford Sound, Fiordland, Catlins, Mt Cook, West Coast and the South Island, Heli Tours provide you with fresh new experiences with a personal touch, showcasing the High Country environment of the South Island- alpine lakes, glaciers, local food and wine producers, untouched beaches and magnificent waterfalls. Heli Tours have unique experiences or can tailor-make a unique tour just for you. Combining scenic helicopter flights with extensive family properties throughout the South Island such as the Mountain Chef, Heli Tours provides a very unique New Zealand experience that no other can do.

Heli Tours Queenstown also works alongside our charter boat business - Fiordland Charters with the MV Pembroke based in Dusky Sound, Fiordland National Park

We operate from the Queenstown International Airport and are located at 1 Sir Henry Wigley Drive. Make a left at the roundabout to enter the airport. You may then access our base via the Rental Car carpark – the first left hand turn just after turning left at the roundabout.

There is no cost to enter the carpark, and the barrier arm will lift automatically when you reach it. Drive through the barrier arm, park on our allocated spaces 267, 266, 265 and 264, and you’ll find our office at the western end of the carpark down a marked path. Alternatively, let us find you. Heli Tours offers courtesy transport between Queenstown accommodations and our base. (Pick-ups and drop-offs are subject to availability and are on a first in first served basis. Transport is limited to Queenstown CBD and Queenstown airport. Pick-ups can be arranged via Heli from some resort helipads for a small extra charge and are also subject to availability)
