Milford Sound ExtendedShare

Leaving Queenstown behind we fly west towards the head of Lake Wakatipu. At the top of the lake we fly past ice shelves, waterfalls and enjoy a mountain landing on snow/ice . We then continue on through Fiordland National Park to the remote West coast and experience a beach landing. Here beside the Tasman Sea you can soak up the fresh salt air with vast ocean views and generally warmer temperatures. Excellent opportunities for lots of photos too! Leaving the beach we fly over beautiful subtropical rainforest to Milford Sound, the 8th Natural Wonder of the World.

Enjoy a short bush walk for fantastic photos of the sound with the iconic Mitre Peak in the distance or sit back and soak up the views over a coffee/tea at the local cafe before leaving to return to Queenstown.
